Overhand grip
Short definition
Pronated (palms-down) grip: the palms face away from the body / downward, thumb wrapping one side, the other four fingers the other.
Full definition
The overhand (pronated) grip is the default way to take a bar: palms face away. In Samson-fit it does not change the force path through the vibrating bar (only grip width — measured palm-centre to palm-centre — matters there), but it shifts the moment load among muscles: e.g. more brachialis/brachioradialis in a curl, more triceps and inner chest in a bench press. Typically used for presses, bent-over rows and curls.
Examples
Bench press with a narrow overhand grip — triceps emphasis.
