Joint Angle
Short definition
Angle between two body segments about a joint axis — the base DOF in a model.
Full definition
Joint angle is the generalized coordinate describing the relative orientation of two segments about a joint axis. Used in: forward kinematics (angles → body pose); inverse dynamics (angles, accelerations, external forces → joint torques); static optimization (torques → muscle forces); force-length (angle → fibre length). In Samson-fit it is the key input to setting each isometric phase.
Examples
Elbow flexion = 90° — the bench-press hold point.
