Electromyography

Biomechanics

Short definition

Electromyography — method of recording muscle electrical activity.

Full definition

EMG records electrical potentials generated by muscle-fibre activation, used to assess muscle activation, fatigue, coordination and to validate biomechanical model results.

Examples

Mean triceps EMG amplitude at 80 %MVC was 0.8 of MVC.
