Metabolic Stress
Short definition
Metabolic stress — accumulation of metabolites (lactate, H+) during exercise.
Full definition
Metabolic stress is the build-up of lactate, H+ and other metabolites in the working muscle, stimulating hormonal response and hypertrophy (via occlusion, BFR, high-rep sets). In MIDA it is linked to Stress Dose.
Examples
Metabolic stress is maximal in high-rep BFR sets.
