Reset

1RM

Training

One-Repetition Maximum

Maximum weight with which an exercise can be performed for exactly 1 repetition.

EN: 1RM

Atrophy

Training

Muscle mass loss

Atrophy — decrease in muscle mass due to lack of training or disease. MIDA models this through myofibril degradation (k_md).

Coefficient adjusting 1RM and load estimates for barbell inertia.

EN: Barbell Factor

Deload

Training

A recovery week with reduced volume/intensity.

EN: Deload

DOMS

Training

Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness

Delayed onset muscle soreness — muscle pain 24-72 hours after exercise, especially after eccentric training.

Endurance

Training

Endurance — the ability to sustain work over time.

EN: Endurance

Failure

Training

Muscular Failure

Failure — the point where another correct repetition is impossible.

EN: Failure

Hypertrophy

Training

Hypertrophy — muscle mass gain via myofibril growth.

EN: Hypertrophy

Intensity

Training

Intensity — relative load heaviness, usually % 1RM or %MVC.

EN: Intensity

Periodization — planned variation of volume and intensity over time.

EN: Periodization

Power

Training

Power — work per unit time; force × velocity.

EN: Power

Rep

Training

Repetition

Repetition — a single performance of an exercise within a set.

EN: Rep

Rest between sets — pause restoring ATP and clearing metabolites.

EN: Rest Between Sets

RPE

Training

Rate of Perceived Exertion

Subjective rating of exercise intensity on a scale (often 6–20 or 1–10).

EN: RPE

Set

Training

Set — a group of consecutive repetitions followed by rest.

EN: Set

Strength

Training

Strength — the ability of a muscle to produce maximal force.

EN: Strength

Technique Coefficient

Technique coefficient — correction for exercise execution quality.

EN: Tech Coefficient

Volume

Training

Volume — total training load (sets × reps × weight).

EN: Volume

Elastic resistance band

An elastic rubber band (physio band, resistance band) for strength and recovery exercises. Resistance increases with stretch.

EN: Physio band
